3 Things to Do Before You Launch
Jul 08, 2025
I had a coaching session this week with my client Claire, who’s been dreaming about launching her beauty brand for years. She’s a stay-at-home mom whose kids will both be in school full-time this fall - and for the first time in a long time, she’s finally got the space to focus on herself.
Our session centered around her question:
“Now that I'm going to have time to really do my business, what should I actually be doing??”
If you’re in the same season - whether you’ve been raising babies, working a job you’re ready to leave, or just trying to find the courage to begin - here are the first three things I’d tell you to do right now:
🕰️ 1. Block Your Work Time (Even If It’s Only 10 Hours a Week)
You don’t need 40 hours a week to build your dream - but you do need consistent time that belongs to you. Block it off. Put it in your calendar. Tell your friends and family you're not available - and then remind them. And remind them again.
Because here’s the truth: if you don’t make time for this, it won’t make it off the ground.
💄 2. Get Clear on What You’re Selling (and Who It’s For)
Before you touch packaging or formulas, get clarity on three things:
-
What problem are you solving
-
Who exactly it’s for
-
Why they need it
Clarity beats cuteness every time. You don’t need a clever name or a perfect logo yet - you need a real offer that connects with a real need.
📨 3. Set Up a Way to Collect Emails (Yes, Before You’re “Ready”)
You don’t need a full website. You need a simple landing page that tells people:
-
What your product is (or will be)
-
Why they should care (what makes it special, why you)
-
Where to drop their email
That email list will become the backbone of your launch - and it’s way more valuable than any social following. Build it now while you're still in development mode.
Bottom line? You’re not late. You’re right on time.
Everyone’s journey looks different. If your timeline is finally aligning with your dream, make space for that dream to grow.
You can totally do this.
